Isuzu Mu x

The upgraded 2024 Isuzu mu-X looks largely similar to its pre-facelift model. The fascia is dominated by a three-section grille that remains matte grey. The grille's fangs now get a black or chrome finish. The change lends a lot of youthful vibes to the SUV but still retains the upmarket curb appeal. The rear is somewhat similar to the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contrast-colour bumper with embedded foglamps in the front now looks more aggressive. The daytime running lights (DRLs) now surround the headlights. The chunky wheel arches don't get any black cladding. The blacked-out D-pillar again looks similar to the Trailblazer. But the wraparound taillights lend the 2024 Isuzu mu-X a distinctive look. The new, six-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels really look attractive. The smart-powered tailgate makes use of a kick-sensor that's placed between the two rear parking sensors.

The 2024 Isuzu mu-X gets a spacious cabin. The two front seats feel comfortable. But they aren't heavily contoured. The driver's seat is set very high, and the wide windscreen offers a commanding view of the road ahead. Shorter drivers would not mind seating in the lowest position. Even the second row is spacious, with lots of legroom and headroom. The bench-type seat offers good thigh support. The seats can recline with a 60:40 split backrest. Access to the third row is via a single pull of a lever that folds and flips the second row forward. The third row, as in most SUVs, isn't exactly spacious. It can only accommodate small children. But the seats get an adjustable headrest. Adults won't be able to travel for long hours on the third row. The 2024 Isuzu mu-X gets coil-spring suspension is a bit on the stiffer side and some bumps are felt inside the cabin.    

The entry-level model of the 2024 Isuzu mu-X is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.5-litre petrol engine that produces 138 PS. The motor is mated to a six-speed automatic. The engine is powerful. The steering wheel is light and offers prompt response. The 2024 Isuzu mu-X is a great highway cruiser with superb off-road prowess. 

The 2024 Isuzu mu-X has a rear parking camera, parking sensors, and multiple airbags. Other safety equipment includes traction control, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, and adaptive cruise control. The fairly large SUV could have done better with a 360-degree camera.

At a starting price of AED 86,100, the 2024 Isuzu mu-X is a bit overpriced among midsized SUVs. But it comes with a solid construction, a spacious cabin, and comfortable traveling for seven persons. It's a nice family wagon for those who don't mind spending a bit extra.
